In October 2009, Somerset Kaleidoscope Project was involved in working closely with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to support the Learning Revolution Festival: a celebration of everything that’s great about learning for pleasure.
We were also lucky to have received funding from Children Engalnd under their Equality and Diversity Programme.
The Festival celebrated all kinds of informal adult learning and the difference learning makes to individuals, families, communities and organisations.
Throughout the month, there were hundreds of events will highlighting the wide variety of learning that takes place throughout the UK.
The series of national events gave people who are already taking part in informal learning a chance to celebrate what they enjoy and give others the opportunity to try something new.
On Sunday 8th November 2009, Somerset Kaleidoscope Project was involved in hosting a world foods day at The Globe Inn Wellington Somerset.
The Events aims were to:
* Promote Local Produce & Producers.
* Promote Healthy Living and Nutrition.
* Promote Futher Education and Learning.
* Share, celebrate and learn about your favourite recipes.
* Exploring issues of diversity through exploring multiculural foods.
